India ranks among the highest globally in road fatalities — with over 1.5 lakh deaths annually. Studies highlight unsafe driving behaviour as the most critical contributor, alongside infrastructure gaps, vehicle conditions, and enforcement limitations.
Young adults remain disproportionately affected, and the current licensing ecosystem focuses more on documentation than structured safety education. Many drivers enter the road without adequate hazard perception training or defensive driving awareness.
To bridge this education gap, IIIT Hyderabad + INAI developed Learn Right — a structured digital platform designed to deliver pre-licensing road safety education.
The platform combines curated educational videos, interactive learning modules, mock license tests, and refresher tools to build responsible driving behaviour before individuals enter real-world traffic conditions.
